The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA),  conducted a high-level partnership visit the AfricaYam project to evaluate advancements in yam research. This mission focused on pioneering breeding technologies and seed system innovations designed to boost smallholder productivity and income. By strengthening the yam value chain, this collaboration reinforces the powerful scientific synergy between Africa and Japan, driving sustainable agricultural transformation through evidence-based research and diplomatic cooperation.
